Marauders Sign Veteran Philadelphia Union and USA International Jack Hoffman

MonoTown FC signs USA international Jack Hoffman to a four-year contract

We are delighted to announce the signing of USA international and Philadelphia Union veteran Jack Hoffman to a four year contract. The 32 year old striker will join the club for their first game of the 2021/22 season.

Player Background

Hoffman has 139 caps as a striker for the US Men’s National Team, where he scored 62 goals. Averaging more than 35 goals in every season of his professional career, he emerged as a product of the Manchester United academy system, where he played eight seasons for the men’s senior team until being sold to AC Milan. While there, he helped boost the team to regular contention in both La Liga and the Champions League and had more than 150 appearances for the club across eight seasons. Most recently, Hoffman has spent the last three years in regular rotation for MLS team the Philadelphia Union. He is well known for his heading ability thanks to his above average height and physicality when playing in the box.

Management Perspective

“We need experienced scoring to anchor the youth that we want to develop over the next four years here at MonoTown,” said manager Scott Perry. “There was only one name on the top of the list of players I submitted to Mr. Kinsman, and Jack was it. I’ve had the pleasure of coaching him on the international stage for years, and the displeasure of competing against him in friendlies, and I can honestly say he’s one of the best players I’ve ever coached.”

“Having Jack join the Marauders in our inaugural season is a dream come true,” said Colin Kinsman, Chairman, MonoTown FC.

Player’s Response

“MonoTown and its new club are an exciting opportunity for me to continue my career and build on the experience I’ve gained,” said Mr. Hoffman.

Contract Details

It is reported that the deal could be worth as much as EUR 15 Million, which while not unusual in terms of top flight league deals, is a significant investment in a player widely considered to be in the sunset of their career.

“We need dynamic players to join our club that can see us through our four year plan to reach the top flight of Buildersliga,” said Chairman Colin Kinsman.
